Another detail that I like about the new song is the hammond organ throughout most of the song! Anyone else noticed this? Yes it's great to hear Hammond sounds. I think it's going to be even better when we hear the good quality version

Thank you so much, Ernie Ball , ent , Marina Art and @tarlanist for the links towards the song ! And thank you watercolourgirl and Michaela Italy for the lyrics ! No doubt : this forum is a precious place ! First of all, concerning the song overall, I'll say the title keeps its promises. The warrior atmosphere is really there : Something heavy, dramatic, intense. Someone told it was related to vikings sagas : the song brings the vikings to me actually ! Now details : like many of you, I like the "bridge" towards the chorus and the chorus itself very much, more than the verses. First time I heard the verses, I thought about "song N°12" from SFTD: very dark, rough, and not very melodic. More frightening than beautiful, but once more it suits the theme of the song. I wonder if that's not the Leven's touch ? Perhaps he contributed to this song for that part. Then, the melodic bridge : surely Mic's touch. And there, contrary to the verses, something lighter, nearly in the 80's tradition... The chorus is the strongest part : both melodic and heavy. A kind of synthesis between verse and bridge. To resume my impression : a powerful song, with a real strong atmosphere. Not a masterpiece, but great anyway. Now concerning the performance, what could I say ? : that's Europe mastery. Everything is great, because they are among the best musicians in the world. I think this song will be awesome played live. I must add this song gets an epic dimension. It could be the music theme of a movie. It brings a lot of emotions, too. There's the "moving" feeling I like with EUROPE : the way they carry you away with their music for a special journey... Yes, great song. But like some other fans, I hope there'll be some faster songs, too, in this new album . And a nice ballad.

Well this track is starting to get stuck in my head now - and to think it's all the fault of Erik The Red...

The track is growing on me, I liked it from the start though. I can't help but feel like the chorus takes off like it's going to be a great, where it could really sore and stay in higher octaves, but they drop it and it falls a little flat? Just my opinion.

(unless it's the fault of Jan Hàkan Haugland, Gunnar Leven, Gunnar Michaeli, Rolf Larsson ? -Sorry for Norum, but his first name "John doesn't sound viking at all ! )

Joey's high vocals are nice and very welcome. I hope he can deliver it on stage. I agree, Joey really goes for it this time! Norum's guitar sound also get's a thumbs up from me. Is it his stratocaster or just me wanting it to be the stratocaster? Well, the pictures from the video shoot for "War of Kings" showed Norum using a Stratocaster, so I guess you're right. Yes I saw these pictures too. And obviously he uses his stratocaster. Hey Stein Vidar, it's almost a year ago that we met at the Hardrock Café in Stockholm before the Wings show! 1 year, I can't believe how fast time goes!!

Yes, I've got the same feeling : They could have exploited the chorus a bit more, put more relief to it.

I know, it's crazy! Speaking of the chorus, I would have loved to hear some backing vocals in there. That's always been one of my favorite things about Europe: The amazing harmonized backing vocals.
