www.wigwam.no/News/GLAM-FORMS-NEW-BAND.en.htmlGLAM FORMS NEW BAND Despite the rumours and Teeny & Flash recently forming a new band, WIG WAM is not breaking up. Wig Wam has instead been put on hold while Teeny and Flash are pursuing their career with their main priority Baby Snakes. Now Glam, Åge Sten Nilsen, has formed a new band too, called NORDIC BEAST. NORDIC BEAST are: MIKKEY DEE (Motörhead) - Drums JOHN NORUM (Europe) - Guitars HAL PATINO (King Diamond) - Bass ÅGE STEN NILSEN (Wig Wam) - Vocals MIC MICHAELI (Europe) - Keyboards NORDIC BEAST insist that their newly formed band will not interfare with their main bands activities. But doesn't rule out that NORDIC BEAST will write original material at some point. Untill then the band will offer a kick ass live set containing the very best from their individual carreers with Motörhead, Europe, Wig Wam, Dokken, John Norum Solo, King Diamond and a lot more. NORDIC BEAST will play their first concert at Rockefeller Music Hall, Oslo - Norway, on January 31.

The new band has a concert in Oslo, a website in building and its official page on facebook, I would like that this new band for John Norum and Mic Michaeli not interfere with their work with EUROPE, especially John Norum: two bands and combine it with his solo work, let's see ... Anyway, all the best for them.

Europe are more classic rock oriented, John's solo works are now more blues oriented, and Nordic Beast are supposed to be much more hard rock oriented. It's just good to see the different sides of an artist, don't you think?

Obviously, he can do many things. That's the mark of great artists. Well, only classical music is missing now : when will he do it ? (I've heard him playing some notes of Johan sebastian Bach, one day, during a soundcheck in Norway... So, he's nearly ready for that !!! ) But I agree with Eva Tomorrow, too : Norum may do everything he wants, if he doesn't leave EUROPE !

Sure , I think it's great that John and Mic evolve as talent musicians that they are, I have no doubt about the musical or creative aspect, they have ability to be part of different projects, but we'll see how they balance the agendas of three bands, not only EUROPE, is also the other bands of members from the new NORDIC BEAST. The current EUROPE is a luxury, we are lucky, and I hope that nothing changes, so everything that is "add" without removing anything we have, is a good thing. The EUROPE family on facebook is happy with the news, so I join to them ...

The cooperation with other great artists will surely be good for Europe as well. I only hope that John and Mic will not download all their "hard rock vibe" into Nordic Beast and will save some of it for Europe future releases too!

I'm a Europe's fan very expectant about what this new band can offer, I'm not a big fan of Motörhead and I know nothing about the singer ÅGE STEN NILSEN, probably he's a great musician, (it could be good if some scandinavian user tell us anything about him) here in southern Europe he isn't known. Nordic Beast has a concert in Oslo on JANUARY, through facebook there is an initiative for a M & Greet to the 5 photos on the wall of the band that more "likes" will get. It's a great initiative, I'm even more expectant to hear this band.
