Hello ladies and gentlemen
, the time for voting the last session of Phase V is over. Even if the time was less than usual there was a great response and the will of the community surfaced clearly. Thank you very much
! Let’s have a look to the results:
Last look at Eden vs.
Gonna get ready: 11 – 5
Ready or not vs.
Bag of bones: 11 – 5
So Last look at Eden and Ready or not complete the list of the final eight
. This time both the winners have largely overtaken the opponent. While I was prepared to it in the first match I’m quite surprised for the overall result of “ready or not”. I mean, I know it’s a great song but didn’t expect to find it in the final eight. Happy for that even if I personally would have preferred Bag of bones. Ok, we are now ready (or not?
) to reveal the eight beautiful tracks that survived until now. It needs a lot of personality to resist to such a hard selection and I must say that personality is a quality that these songs surely don’t miss. Applause!

No stone unturnedThey are the final eight. But I would like to make a special mention to “In my time” that was left out for just one vote. And to complete my personal top ten I would give the last place to “The final countdown”. Because it can even be left out from a top eight (and we did it) but, seriously, it deserves to stay in any top ten of this band no matter what!
Since the band has released nine albums so far, one of them had to stay out of the top eight. In this case they are two (TFC and BOB) because we chose two songs from LLAE. I think that the list is however very well balanced. The spirit of rock is of course prominent because we’re talking of a rock band here
but there’s room enough for one ballad (chosen to represent all the other beautiful ballads that didn’t make it, from Carrie to New love in town, from Tomorrow to My woman my friend). There’s the epic and symphonic side (from Seven doors hotel to Last look at Eden), there are the mid-tempos and everywhere immortal riffs and superb solos. We still hold half the songs from the first era and the others from the modern times. That’s great! And talking about balance, have you noticed: four of the songs were released as singles but the others are “ordinary” album tracks
. This points out another important distinction of this band. Any album features many, many beautiful songs. The fillers are really few and I think that this was our way to underline this aspect.
I expect that each one of you has a different top eight and that no one is completely happy with this one. If you feel to do it, you can say which song(s) should absolutely not miss from your personal top eight. But on one condition (we surely don’t like to make things simple here
): you must also say which song(s) should leave its place so hardly conquered.
Bring me the feeling right in that moment when a heart for battle cries!
Ok what happens now? In the next Phase VI (!) the songs will be coupled in four terrific matches. The matches will be presented one by one to give them a proper stand out. The voting session for each match will stay open for three days. At the end of Phase VI we will remain with only four songs! The draw of the matches will happen, as usual here:
forum.wingsoftomorrow.com/thread/584/battle-songs-service-thread?page=6&scrollTo=5858 And Phase VI will start as soon as the draw is completed.
Stay tuned for more exciting battles.
