The Battle of the Songs: Ready or not!

Hello Aphasians , the time to vote the songs of Group F is now expired. Even if this battle has probably broken some hearts in the end we pretty much agreed on which songs should go on. And here’s the result:

Bag of bones: 11
Gonna get ready: 9
Hero: 6
Flames: 6

Bag of bones and Gonna get ready join the final 16 . Both the songs from the reunion album leave the game. It’s sad to leave them out since they surely have a place in our hearts (I still remember the people out in the streets with the signs “save hero” ) but this time nothing could be done. The other two songs were simply too strong. So the reunion album in the next Phase will be represented only by “Wake up call”. Let’s see what happens.

Fate (with a little help from gemaim) gathered together three songs of the new era plus Heart of stone from the early days. This group is formed by:

- From The final countdown album a song that’s not a single but only because there were too many singles from that album: pure energy and great choruses;
- The sumptuous only single from Secret society, with its fat guitar riff and “clever lines” inspired to Joey by the sad events of 9/11;
- The rousing up-tempo from Last look at Eden, one of the fastest Europe tracks since Scream of anger;
- The touching ballad again from the Eden album, in memory of Michelle Meldrum, with its moving arpeggio, the breath-taking lyrics and the speaking guitar solo at the end.

What can I say that’s not already been told? It’s again a very hard group, you can see it by yourself. Destiny is quite mischievious sometimes and this time has gathered two of the not so many tracks co-credited to John Levèn (The beast and Always the pretenders). It must be said that when the guy decides to lay down some heavy riffs he does a f***ing good job , isn’t it? And two songs from the same album (The beast and In my time). What should we do?
So dear friends, as Joey says, “here’s the ammunition that you need”. Two bullets for each one of you. Target well and shoot with a steady hand. And be sure to do it before next Thursday October the 10th. It’s your turn now, “break the silence, shout it out!”
