For me one of the best EUROPE's concerts I have attended.
I already know how the people in Madrid love EUROPE and in Spain in general, the two previous nights Bilbao and Zaragoza were very good too, both King King (the opening act) and Europe managed to create a great atmosphere and the people responded very well in both of them. But on Sunday there was a different atmosphere, already in the queue of the street there were many people, there was desire to have a good time, good rock. Maybe La Riviera is not a room with the best sound but I can assure you that it is one of the best in terms of the climate generated there and how the people clothe the band, how they are able to have jumping and raising the arms to the people of the first rows and the last ones, how they are capable of everybody singing, and shouting and cheering them, it was really magical. I'm from Madrid but I am being as objective as possible, it was an unforgettable concert and I think the band understood it, the first reason because it was the last one of the tour and I think they were all happy and relaxed, and then because people they hugged them. That communion made Sunday an unforgettable rock moment. The press in Spain is making them very good reviews, I even read that EUROPE is a band for Madrid to perform in places of greater capacity, and it makes sense, LA RIVIERA has a capacity of about 2,500 people but is that the last 2 times who they have come to Madrid EUROPE has been SOLD OUT ... well someone have to think about it. Joey was absolutely delivered, friendly, very good vibes, interacting with people, and with a powerful voice, PICTURES sounded so good! John Norum was masterful as always but also very funny, I don't know if you have seen the picture where John puts the guitar Joey between his legs hehe. And the rest of the band members as always playing luxury. Among the audience were the guys from ECLIPSE who play today in Madrid and were making photos with everyone, they were very kind. And after the concert we were all with a feeling of happiness to have lived a great night. Great EUROPE! They have to keep going, there is a lot of EUROPE still ... they have to rest and I suppose to make decisions for the future, for upcoming albums and concerts, but what they did the other day in Madrid tells us many things and one of them is that they are capable of everything, ...

Thanks for sharing your views upon the gig. The videos show what you say.

In fact I was yesterday in Eclipse's acoustic gig and Eric talked about the concert (same promoter) and, better: they made two Europe's covers: Prisioners In Paradise (so they did in their last acoustic show in Madrid, two years ago) and a very lovely Open Your Heart '84. Thanks to Eva and Michela for a great companion last Saturday. Sister Eva, next date, with the rocking girls.

Last week I saw 3 shows: Bologna (my hometown), Zaragoza, and Madrid. It was a crescendo of emotions. Bologna was a real blast, Zaragoza and its location gave a twist (I rarely take videos during concerts, because I am very captured by the show and I'm such a greedy fan, who wants to keep all the good vibes for herself !!) and I regret not to have filmed the lights effects on the ceiling of the Auditorio !!, but Madrid won ! Madrid was PURE power ! There was energy and fun, especially when Daniel went on stage to fix Joey's earplugs or when John Norum went to play behind Joey and stuck his guitar between his legs The only thing that left a little bit of bitterness in my mouth, was how the band left La Riviera soon after the concert. I completely understand life on the road is tiring and exhausting, but they went off from stage soon after the last TFC chord and disappeared. I think they could have thanked the audience from stage, it would have been an appreciation for all those fans who went to lots of shows, even a simple bow would have been a great way to say 'thank you all for being faithful !'. Anyway, I'm sure there will be other occasions It was great meeting lots of you during the shows, having a chat and have fun together. Needless to say, I wish to meet you all soon again
