Kee takes old Europe songs like "Seventh Sign" and "I'll cry for you" and redresses them, and puts on new lyrics, and then presents them as new songs... Soooooo.... who really lost their songwriting?? Yep. And there is another song that you might find familiar-sounding, at times: But it's an ok song.

I have many discussions with my friends about the 80s and I always tell them to check out Europe's last couple of albums or so... Many of them are surprised of how great musicians they've become, and they're not relying on their past. IMO they're way better than their peers these days, continually romping like a steamboat!
Frankly, I can't understand artists like Kee who are pushing their glory days right under our noses in a 'revisited' or 'remixed' bundles. Why not move along and try something else instead of making a parody of yourself?
And btw, the day Europe sign a contract with Frontiers Music will be the day I lose all hope on Earth xD

They ''don't have the songs''. LOL Really? He's not at all bitter or jealous about anything is he perhaps? Europe have put out no end of great songs in the last few years. Hardly any of Kee's recent material had any impact on me whatsoever. About the only good things were his re-hashes of Europe songs, and even then they weren't as good as the original versions. The guy is an incredibly good guitarist but I've lost respect for him with this attitude.

I agree, Mark-David. But sadly this isn't anything new. It's been nearly a decade of mudslinging and cheap shots from Kee. I haven't been able to take him seriously for years now. I know we should never say never (or Never Say Die ) but I think Kee burned his bridges a long time ago. It's a shame, but he made his own bed and has to lie in it.

The Kee dynamic is a bit of a weird one, but frankly not much different than most situations when there has been rotating personnel in a band. As much as Kee acts like he doesn’t want to be connected with Europe, he needs that connection to stay relevant in most cases. Then there are times that he completely embraces his time with the band and the band members, and you almost wonder if he’s a bit bipolar about the subject, or just depends how he feels about the subject on that particular day. I can accept that he does not like the direction the band has gone post-reunion. To be honest, they are my favorite band, but there are a lot of songs post-reunion that don’t hold a candle to the best songs from the first go around, and I am not in love with. It is also not for us to judge if Kee just prefers the more straight ahead, melodic hard rock sound that in reality Europe played before, versus the bluesier, let’s do our damnedest to sound like Deep Purple/Thin Lizzy sound of today . The guy is allowed to have his opinion regardless to whether we agree or not. I think that as the guy who is no longer in the band, it makes it that much easier for everyone to criticize him for not praising the band, and accuse him of being bitter or egotistical, or whatever you want to say about him. I’m not here trying to defend him, I’m just saying.
Both Kee and members of the band….including Joey in a fairly recent interview seem to say positive things about each other, and the comments seem genuine.
In a perfect world, there would be a couple OOTW anniversary shows, maybe in the same vein of what they did with TFC… play 2 sets… current tracks from WTE or post reunion, and then play OOTW w/Kee. Will it happen, I doubt it…? “If” there were any type of guest appearance, my guess would be it possibly the OOTW singles bunched together with Kee, and then JN comes back out to finish the overall set, and then everyone plays TFC as the encore. But, again, all that is in a perfect world situation.
What I truly wish would happen if there is no chance of any type of OOTW anniversary shows, is that the band releases a CD/DVD set from the era. It is grossly underappreciated and undocumented for as popular as Europe was worldwide at the time. I’d dare say that coming off TFC high, it was probably their peak of popularity, when they were really regarded as one of the top bands of the genre for the time.
