After the gig I saw Mikkey Dee (from Motörhead and Scorpions) at the bar. I walked up to him and said that's he's a f**king awesome drummer, shook his hand and wished him the best of luck with Scorpions.
Hey I see a great looking group of fans there! I've been enjoying reading your reports and seeing pictures and videos. It looks like it was a special and quite different show. I'm very excited that they played two whole albums and I hope they keep it up for the shows to come. How about the video with the fan photos?Any comments on how it came out?
Here is a link to the video that Ian posted on his Facebook page of The Final Countdown and Rock The Night:
It was interesting to find out they played both albums (almost in order) from start to finish. What was it like at the concert when you started to realise that was what was happening? I'm also glad to know this before the show on Saturday as I was perhaps expecting more of a mix of The Final Countdown album tracks with other hits (would have loved to hear Superstitious, Open Your Heart, Sign Of The Times. Last Look At Eden etc. instead of some of the War Of Kings tracks) and also I was also hoping they might include On Broken Wings as it is from the same time as The Final Countdown. Ah well, still looking forward to seeing the show on Saturday.
