Thank you
jarkam, first of all for your company in Vienna! Even if we were differently positioned in the audience, we have had some good time and chat before and after the show!
It's been a long day for me that one. Starting in Heathrow in the morning where I arrived at about 10:20am and I couldn't find my flight on the display...so I checked my boarding pass and WTF??? it said departure at 10:45!!!
And I still had to pass the security check...at Heathrow!!! It usually takes 1 hour...
I started sweating and asking myself how I could have missed the flight in such a stupid way...!!!
Then, I realized I was actually watching my boarding pass of two days before, for my flight to Stuttgart!!! Pfeuuuuuuu...I was on time... my flight was at 12:45!!! Hurrah...
But then the adventure began...I checked the display once again, my flight was reported normally on time, but for some reasons they said "gate shown at 13:15"... What? How can the flight take off at 12:45 if the gate is shown at 13:15???
I went to the desk and they confirmed it was delayed but they would have written "delayed" later on... ok, weird, but let's wait and hope! I passed the security check and went for breakfast, I was sitting under another display.
I had the doubt that Joey could be on my flight, as I was leaving from Heathrow. So I checked the next flights in the day to Vienna. There was only one more flight in mid afternoon, and... it was reported as CANCELLED... already at 11am in the morning.
At that point I was sure Joey would have been on my flight... I thought in case he was on the cancelled one, they would have advised him and re-protected him on the previous one.
But furthermore, by the time my flight should have been boarding, but still not ready because they were keeping slipping it, I noticed that the early flight in the morning to Vienna had been delayed so much that it was departing only more or less at 1pm. With my breakfast and then my lunch over there (I never know when I can eat next when going to a concert)...I had missed the opportunity to change my flight and take the earlier one, but I thought: "oh well, Joey for sure made the change on this one and he is already on his way".
So, when I finally boarded on my flight, and Joey didn't show up, I was convinced he had already left before me.
They delayed mine so much that the time for departure almost became the one of the cancelled flight, but actually it was half an hour before.
Landed in Vienna, I have had to rush to the venue and I arrived that doors were already opened but people were still queueing at an internal entrance to the stage area. That's where I found jarkam who rescued me from the middle of the crowd. But to get there, along the way inside the venue, I had met Staffan though, Europe's Tour Manager, and I told him about my delayed flight. So, at that point he interrupted me and said: "yes and we have another problem". I looked at him and I immediately understood what happened, I froze and said "Oh...Joey". And he confirmed: "He won't make it on time tonight..."
Joey was on the cancelled flight and the Airlines didn't advise him on time, evidently!
So I have been waiting with bated breath for the show to begin...the crowd was getting quite upset after The Vintage Caravan played, because of the delay. I was praying and sweating (very hot inside!) and swearing at the Airlines. When all at a sudden, the lights went down and the intro to War of King started!
God knows where he landed, but he made it with less than 1 hour delay!!!
It's when you can really say they are
!!!
