As much as I would love to go and see Europe in Birmingham, I am going to pass and wait until they come back and do their own headlining tour. And as much as I would also like to see Deep Purple (having never seen them before), I refuse to pay £50 to be about 500m from the stage, to see Europe playing what will inevitably be a fairly short set. Incidentally, the first time I ever went to see Europe live was also in Birmingham (NEC) on the OOTW tour, in 1989 I think it was. I was 14 years old and since then I have taken almost every opportunity to see them play, even travelled abroad on some occasions. Lost count of how many I have been to. Think is is around 20, and hopefully there will be many more 'In the Future to Come'

Yeah it is a grower to be fair. Got my Special Edition today. Nice booklet with black and white photos. Shame about the odd spelling mistake in the lyrics.. I mean I didn't write the lyrics, so I don't know but in the title track lyrics I would have thought it was meant to say 'our conscience weighs on all of our minds'. Instead it says 'our conscious weighs on all of our minds'. Maybe it's not a big thing, but it annoys me to see errors (or what seems to me to be errors)...

Why GTO? Not knocking your choice, just curious Because it's a fast and euphoric rocking track! It reminds me a bit of the Wings of Tomorrow album. Yeah I get that. A little bit 'Dance the Night Away' perhaps. Up-tempo style. I always think Europe are at their best up-tempo

Yes I'm in agreement on 'Wolves'. I like it alot too. 'Long dark shadows they throw...' Good imagery and very atmospheric, and the Hammond is beautiful and very effective.

^^ oh where's that can of worms photo...are here it is lol. Secret Society is probably my No.1 since reunion... Now I will go and find a wall to hide behind and wait for the hail of rotten eggs and vegetables... Sorry, wasn't trying to annoy you. I was just trying to indicate that I'm not in the "80's Europe or bust" crowd. Haha, don't worry you didn't annoy me at all. I am also not in the ''80's or bust'' club. Let's celebrate our differences. As usual with Europe albums opinions are divided inevitably. For me a solid album, but not melodic enough especially on the guitar playing. That's just personal preference for me - I love that uplifting melodic playing, with long soaring notes (think 'Vasastan'). That style does more for me than the style on this album.

It's 7/10 for me overall. Maybe my rating will go up over time, maybe it will go down. The main reason it is only a '7' for me at this point is that it seems to me there is, as mentioned above, only one Europe sounding track.

I must admit the songs I was initially unsure about are definitely growing on me. And the songs I liked immediately are also. 'Pictures' is a magnificent song that's quite spine tingling and hypnotic. For me it is the best track now.
