I think it's a great song, but the video looks as if it was fan made.

Not nice to see that kind of behavior from Kee.
If it happened the way he described it it does seem wrong because obviously Joey's wishes alone shouldn't have overruled the rest of the band. But I sure would have personally sided with him if I had been there at the time. You don't really get that Europe sound when you involve other people and my least favorite song from the old days is Halfway to Heaven.
The song in question also doesn't sound that special to me but it obviously performed well in the charts. It might have given the band a boost in popularity but I can't imagine what it would have done to Joey's future performance. Having the one song you weren't personally involved in become the greatest hit wouldn't have been very encouraging I think and in the end I don't think it was a missed opportunity all things considered.

Yes, the music video is definitely on video tape. I was previously under the impression that it might have been shot at film and then transferred to tape, but watching again I don't really much evidence that. Besides, there's no way they'd redo the post production even if they had kept a film master.
I was curious about In the Future to Come as it was shot before they signed with CBS. It uses a lot of warfare stock footage shot on film which fades in and out of the performace making it a tad more difficult to tell. Unfortunately I believe it's all video as well.
I believe that leaves us with On The Loose (the movie), which I don't see happening. I didn't look into Europe In America, but I think Europe would have to be a bigger band today for such a project to be undertaken regardless.

Sorry, but it seems like you've all been fooled by the resolution of the video file here. All that's really happened is that they've reuploaded it with less digital compression. That still amounts to some more clarity which is welcome, but this is not a new transfer in true HD (which is entirely possible to achieve, they just haven't gone that far). It's 480p with a 1080p output. You can lower the stream to 480p and suffer no quality loss to see for yourself, apart from mayble slightly harsher compression applied by YouTube itself post upload.
This is basically the same as the Rock The Night DVD. Which leaves more to be desired even for an SD transfer in my opinion.

I just played my Hot version (HOTS 8417) and unlike what has been stated here, it also has the long version. At least mine does and according to Discogs it's the only reported pressing by Hot Records.

I randomly came across a set of individual autographed photos of all the band members from the 80s (Mic/Ian/Norum lineup) while looking at antiquities online. It's for sale along with the Superstitious single (which isn't pictured). I didn't buy them, but I'd guess someone here may be interested. The price is 550 SEK. The purchase procedure is old-school and works through a contact form below the listing. Include the item number (7024). I don't have any experience with this shop. As this appeared outside of the usual auction sites interested fans probably keep track of, I thought this would escape your radar unless I share it. www.patina.nu/produkt/idolbilder-europeIt would be nice if you'd let me know if you sent them a request so I can remove the link. So that people don't have to contact them in vain and also overload them with requests in case there's great interest.

Hello! My name is Tom and I'm from Sweden. I haven't been on here at all since I signed up unfortunately, but some of you may remember me from back when Europe had an official forum. I also met some of you at a concert back then.
I made the small animated band member portraits you may find in the list of emotes here during that time. And regarding that, I'd like to apologize to Stein for not responding to his e-mails regarding the creation of former band members.
A short update about me: I've since spent a few years studying archaeology and I'm currently planning to apply for a 3D graphics education.

I heard there will be an interview in any minute. For those of you who understand Swedish: sverigesradio.se/ Open the player at the bottom and pick P4 (I think any region will do, but I'm on Stockholm). Edit: So, anyone had a listen? I thought the part about Joey being a cleaner at a magazine printer was entertaining.
