I am for 31 years now, a big fan of Europe. I love the period before and after the break, so not hanging on to just the eighties. But i must admit, i was a little disapointed with the new album in first. It grew on me, but still it isn't Europe as strong as it good be or perhaps, lots of times it isn't Europe at all. It's great they have the guts to reinvent themselfves, but that musn't be the purpose in itself. There are just nog enough strong melodies and that is, one of the things what made Europe unique. You could hear it in as well the singing, as in playing guitar. Melodic and balanced, but here it's kind of messy to me. The only Europe sounding song is the title track. Yes, they are doing there thing and rocking the way the want, but with that, for me they are now sounding like just a good, but also ordinairy rockband. Nothing special.

Yes, Mark-David, they are teasing us ! I have to admit that i do check it out about 8 times a day, knowing that it's nog there yet, but you'll never know. Now it's about time that it's there soon!
I think you need to listen to the album again.... And again... And again... Because this album is one of their best ones! They can NOT stay and make music like they did in the good old 80-90's!! It is 2015 and they have to alter their sound and do fresh new music! And this album has good solid rock with new twists!
Thank you, but of course i did. About 5 songs are to much pop /slow and also just not good enough concerning writing. You know, perhaps as a fan for about 30 years now i have to high standards. All i want is just good songs that rock with power and good melodies, cause i still believe they can provide us that. Overall and judging it by Europe standards, the album is overall to weak. Not one outstanding powerfull song on the whole album!

I agree with you on some parts. But I'm curious which songs you reckon as 'a waste of space' and 'boring and oridnary'. For me those are: Second Day, Praise You, Angels and Light it up. They would have also fit wel on a JT solo album. About the songs i didn't mention, from 1-10 i would rate them as a 7 or 8, nothing outstanding. I also remember that JN did not want to play the song Prisoners live. I thought it was to much pop/soft for him. But that song was much better and less soft than the songs i mentioned, so i also do not understand that. It's just not a (heavy) rock album overall and also not good enough (for Europe standards).

By the way, the good songs still shows that they still got it. Joey is sometimes great like the rest of the boys. So show it!!Perhaps a little less touring and taking some more time to write the best Europe album ever!Time for a combination of Wings, OOTW and the new stuff would be great.

There are a few good songs on the album. Nothing outstanding. For the rest, some real boring and ordinairy songs that are a waste of space. I skip a lot on this album! Why not again make about 20 songs to choose from and make a selection for the best 10-12 songs to create an album? A lot of songs are slow and soft and uninspired. Mid- tempo for the best, but not Europe llike happy uptempo songs. I just count 5 of 6 songs worth listening (and those are not the balled or soft songs), for the rest it's all worth skipping, if you like (melodic) rock. OOTW was overproduced indeed, but it had so much more power, energy and quality. This is nothing special overal.
