Thanks! "Always the Pretenders" was the only single off Secret Society.

Ent - because I didn't know about SFTD, SS or LLAE until last summer, what were the singles off SS? "Faith" and "Hero" made sense off SFTD, "Forever Travelling" I'm guessing was one from SS, judging by the few appearances Joey and Mic made on TV shows people posted on youtube..any others? But it does seem that they put out a "rocker" track first, followed by a "ballad". "LLAE" and "New Love" off LLAE. Back in the 80s, it seemed to be two "rockers" and then one "ballad", and that was a formula all the rock bands followed back then -- at least over here in North America. I can't say for sure elsewhere.
But I think you are right that they are satisfied with their approach now -- I think the guys are more in control over their music and are enjoying the fact that they don't have record execs pressuring them to have "hits" or sound a certain way. I think the result is better quality songs that'll stand the test of time.

What am I listening to right at this moment? Depeche Mode's Sounds of the Universe cd - it's on a track called "Little Soul"...there's a painting I have in mind for that song. Besides Europe, DM is my other passion.

Some of you know me from FB and the old forum (but I never really posted much there. I was too shy!), I'm Eva from Canada. Music, art, and laughter are very much in my fibre. I play very little guitar, sing when I'm alone painting or drawing...well, I'm not exactly alone. My two dogs are normally around me and I can tell you they don't always appreciate my vocal efforts! And I love painting animals. And having a laugh. Lots of laughs.

To Stormwind -- I watched your videos too. You had a great spot and despite the sound, enjoyed them much - thanks for posting them, too.

To Guesswho -- your videos gave me a different perspective and now, I will cry with you because you were close to Johnny and Mic and oh! if that had been clear, you and I would be doing a happy dance! But I'll take looking at Mic's behind...oops...I mean, looking AT Mic from behind, blurry or clear (just kidding...I'd rather be watching Mic from above so I can watch his hands play especially during LLAE when he does the whole hand-over-hand bit near the end of the song...I wish I had an ounce his dexterity...Norum's too. My hands are slow pokes.)

Thank you so much, Guess! I will watch them tomorrow when I've got the house to myself - my guilt-free, uninterrupted pleasure time. So don't cry anymore about the quality...I'll enjoy them. Thanks again! Guesswho said: All right. There was a time, when I had never seen EUROPE live yet, when I was just like you : watching everything... So, especially for you, watercolourgirl, Here are my videos : www.youtube.com/user/TheDrrrums/videosYou can see that we are far far far from the 100% perfect ! (And here, I'm crying again ! )[/quote]

Guesswho - is any of your video watchable or are you being hard on yourself thinking that the footage needs to be 100% perfect? LOL - I'll watch anything. I'm stuck in Canada and have to live through, all of you who are lucky to see Europe, experiences. Living vicariously, you might say...

I got my Japanese import cd of BOB from Amazon.ca. I'm still waiting for my other import (one w/o the extra track) to come yet (from Amazon, too) - they told me it was delayed and not sure when they'll get it in. I'm not cancelling the order - I want them to get it for me and that one to be kept in mint condition. I smiled while listening to "Firebox" - could hear some Rush influences in that song!
