What the.....? I cant believe it... Joey is singing TFC in the original key!! Wow! And you know what? He sounds totally awesome! It's so good! His voice sounds crystal clear. No pushing. And a few minutes later he belts out Led Zeps "Rock n Roll"! Very very high vocals as well! Dammit! Why isn't he doing this with Europe? I mean, he still sings high and I love it, but TFC in standard tuning just sounds so much better... For everybody (including myself) who was maybe wondering if Joey could still sing his own songs in the original key: YES HE CAN! If he wants to

Thank you Ernie Ball for posting that video! Just watched TFC and Joey sounded AWESOME! I was not expecting to hear him sing TFC in the original key... and that it would sound THIS good. Why isn't he doing this with Europe? I mean, he still sings high and I love it, but TFC in standard tuning just sounds so much better... When he's on tour with EUROPE, he sings the old songs in a lower tuning (usually one half step down) to save his voice. That's what I think, anyway. On this Rock Meets Classic tour he only seems to be singing six songs + the all-star finale "Rock 'n' Roll", so I guess he feels it's safe for him to sing the songs in the original key and hit more of the high notes without blowing his voice out. I've always been impressed with how Joey has kept his voice in good shape, especially when compared to some of his contemporaries like Jon Bon Jovi and David Coverdale.

I'm stunned! Dont want to get all sentimental about it haha, but this is a very unique moment. Last time Joey sang TFC like that...was in 1992! Yeah. I was thinking the exact same thing also. That's the reason. I think he even mentioned it...sometime...in some interview. But still, 6 songs + the all-star finale...that's quite something! And now I'm curious about the other Europe songs! If he sang those in original key as well!

And now I'm curious about the other Europe songs! If he sang those in original key as well! Check out this video from Kempten yesterday, from Michaela Italy (thank you!): Joey sings "Superstitious" in the original key for the first time since the Prisoners in Paradise tour in 1992! AND he sings the full acapella intro together with the backing vocalists! The last time he did that was on the Out of This World tour in 1988-89.

After all these years...this is such a treat. Never would have thought Joey would sound that good in original tuning. That first video I posted (from a greater distance so you can hear louder vocals), I must have watched it 10 times by now haha. If you close your eyes, you cant tell if those vocals are from 1986 or 2016. It's THAT good! Here are some more videos from the second show. And yes, all songs are in standard tuning! (Not gonna happen, but wouldn't it be great if they did they did the anniversary tour like this??)

Thank you so much for the videos, But why not Joey sings as well with Europe? OMG! What a great voice ! I've seen live CARRIE many times and has never sounded so good as it does in this video. Axl for AC / DC? No, no ... Joey Tempest! Ok is a joke, Joey is the best frontman in the best band. Back to the topic, Wonderful show, his voice sounds so good with the orchesta and choirs, especially SUPERSTITIOUS, I really like. Congratulations Joey ... I'm happy for him, he deserves much success

He really sounds great, that's for sure! And in the first video where you see the other performances, with all the respect to them, but who collects all the prizes...? Not to mention the white microphone stand.....alive and kicking...hahaa! In the "rock'n roll" where things seems little bit unorganized for the group, he knows what he is doing....and that incredible voice! Could it be possible in November...? For the sake of anniversary....could it be....
