Maybe not everybody's cup of tea, but I think this guy came up with a pretty creative cover. And he is crazy fast too! Not just fast, but also quite functional. He sounds like a mix between Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert and Jason Becker. Maybe even faster! Also, I really like how he kept Norum's solo close to the original.

I was impressed for the first 30 seconds, then it got really boring! (even for me as an Yngwie fan....)
I like the idea of jamming over that track, and he's got some good techniques in there. It's cool that he's just playing in the streets. Also great that he kept most of Norum's solo like mentioned.
- but the showing off killed it... His bends and some of the licks are out of tune, and his playing isn't good enough to let us hear all the notes. If he slowed it down a bit, it would actually sound better.

Yeah I know what you mean with the "showing off" haha. And slowing down a bit would indeed make it sound better. But I think that will come with age. For a 20 year old (at the time)....I think he's doing a great job. I started playing at 14 but I wasn't THIS good at 20! Dont know what exactly, but there is something "special" about his playing and his sound. He has that thing. Something that separates him from the other youngsters I see on Youtube. At least I thought he was good enough to post here And especially how he approaches the fast stuff. If he keeps improving and eventually hit all the notes...he would be an awesome player! The technique and the speed is already there. By the way michaeljessen, over the years I saw several topics about you and your Norum guitars. I never joined the conversation but I saw the pictures and read the stories. Just wanted to say that's great...and ofcourse totally awesome . You have a great collection! Cheers mate!

Yes for sure he could develop into an amazing player he IS pretty damn good for a 20-year-old guy performing in the streets Thanks, it's a pretty cool collecion. I guess I have owned about 8 of his guitars but I'm down to 3 at the moment, and waiting for him (Norum) to send me another one of his guitars that I've bought from him. Curently I own: Natural Gibson Les Paul from Firebox video and Bag Of Bones Tour, originally Black but Norum removed the paint and lacquer himself. 1980 Wine red Gibson Les Paul from the Millennium show and about all Europe shows from 2004-2012 The Fender stratocaster from the Countdown video and tour One of Norums Marshall JCM800 2205 These are sold again: 1974 Fender Stratocaster Black, from Almost Unplugged and LLAE Recordings, Nice guitar but used it as part payment for the 1980 Wine red les paul Gibson Les Paul Elegant 1997, used of the SFTD Tour, check Girl from Lebanon Brasov 2005, killer guitar, would like it back.....! Gibson Les Paul 1956 reissue gold top with P90 pickups, Norum used it on TV performing somre Pink Floyd song with Joey in Stockholm Gibson Les Paul 1957 reissue gold top, one of his goldtops from the LLAE era (not Dark back) Gibson Les Paul 1958 reissue sunburst, I bought this from Norum, and then backstage after a BOB show, he wanted to trade me the Natural Firebox gibson, and he got this one back

Impressive man, great collection really! You are a pretty dedicated Norum fan I think you kept the 3 coolest guitars by the way. Good choice! Although I can imagine you want that 1997 Les Paul Elegant back... But that 1980 red Les Paul from the Millennium show is absolutely beautiful. And never EVER sell that white Strat from TFC video. Never! Legendary guitar. For me, Norum = white Strat. That's how I remember him from when I was little. I cant think of a greater, cooler Europe collectors item than that white Strat...to be honest. Well at least for a guitar player One of my guitars is also a pretty cool one: a 1994 Musicman Eddie van Halen model. His first signature guitar and according to a lot of fans still the best one. It has the smoothest neck I ever played. Great guitar, great sound!

Curently I own: What guitar are you waiting for him to send you? And how do you get hold of these guitars that he sells? I have seen some of his guitars on Tip Top, but not all the ones you have owned. Would love to own one of his guitars myself! Also, do you know if he still has the wine red Custom from '74 that he also used on the SFTD tour? The guitars that I currently own are: 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded (signed by Norum) 1981 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Wine Red) 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe 1956 Gibson Les Paul Jr. 1974 Fender Stratocaster Thanks

Yes that 1980s Les Paul is really cool, extremely worn and beaten up -and I can promise you that I will never ever sell that one, or the white Fender! Those 2 stays with me forever.... I have played some Musicmans and you're right, those necks are really great! They seem so easy to play and they're built with great quality What guitar are you waiting for him to send you? And how do you get hold of these guitars that he sells? I have seen some of his guitars on Tip Top, but not all the ones you have owned. Would love to own one of his guitars myself! But a very cool collection you have. The 1974 Fender, just like John's on Almost Unplugged, and the 1981 Gibson, very similar to the Millenium wine red 1980 model. I've bought some of the guitars from TipTop, but these days John emails me directly if he has a special guitar for sale. This time around I've bought a guitar that has been on the last couple of tours, but is not on this one. Guess which one..!? He sells guitars once in a while, so if you're really in to it, and have the money, you can get one. He usually sells them at the same price as new ones, so he's not overcharging. Gibsons are usually around 3000-3500€ (customs and custom shop models/VOS) So just let me know if you're serious and I'll keep you updated if something comes up
