Feedback: Aphasia Forum Page in facebook ?
Hi dear users, I've open this thread to put in common a thought that could maybe be good for the forum, I'm not sure so I would like the opinion of you all: Stein and the rest of the users. Long ago that the projection of the band focuses only on facebook. Many of us have wrote in this forum that facebook is not our favorite website, is a complex place and sometimes it's really hard to move there but I wonder if we could open a facebook page of this forum, where we can share information we have here, photos, and even to pool threads that more people could join. I think it probably would be a way to increase the number of users here and be more connected to the portal where the band has more presence. On the other hand, one of the highlights of this forum is the feeling of being part of a little group of international fans we like to just talk about music and concerts, and this in facebook is not always so, we must be prepared to handle comments really stupid and out of place. It's just a thought ... maybe a chance to advance, to get more people here ... obviously this forum is of Stein, he has the last word, but it would be great if all put here your opinion, the mine is the opinion of the majority, if we decide not to do it, ok to me, if it does, count on me to make a turn to this forum.

IMO: I'm not a fb user and as far as I can, I wont be. I love the forum format.

Hi Eva, thanks for your suggestion but I'd rather keep the forum the way it is, because we have here all the Europe news in one place, clear and fast. The truth is that, as I guessed after the official forum closure, I cannot rely on Facebook nor on the official page to follow the Europe news. Also, I think it's difficult to attract FB users to a site, in my opinion sharing the link with our friends would be more effective and less laborious. I haven't tried it but this addon should work addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/facebook-share-button/

I think we have managed to create a space between all very interesting where we talk about music and musicians and our favorite band, with great respect and passion, and is perfect for me, not me wish that this could change, and in that sense to promote the forum via facebook could do it, but I also recognize that I would like that more users to join this forum, and this is something that the Official Forum drew us advantage, because was a link on the official website of the band and many people could reach to it. But hey ... I've read in somewhere that the essences are served in small packages so ...

Hello Eva Tomorrow ,thanks for your proposal and for everything you do on this forum and on fb. But, I agree with gemaim and ricardo. This forum feeds my appreciation for the band much more than a fb page could ever do. In some way it's even better than the old official forum. Consider this: even if we're relatively more free here, we always behave. I don't remember any discussion less than polite here, also in disagreement. This place is cosy and warm and I like it. Even if not so many people post here, when a fan searches for reliable and fresh information about the band he is sure to find it here. I'm not posting much lately (I'm desperatly waiting for the new album) but I'm always here to read. And certainly many others like me. As someone said in the old forum (in the closure thread): if something isn't broken, why fix it? That's even more true for this forum. Keep it going!

Thank you for your contributions, dear ent and EuropeMagnum ... I'm thinking it's probably something innate in us , of Europe's fans, and is not to be also fan of facebook , so maybe the band should have taken into account this information before to focus its promotion "only" there. But good, we'll survive no problem Fans of this band have overcome worse things. Ok, so we'll continue to have this place of worship of the band, where any new user will be welcome but without promote us in facebook, we will not fall into the clutches of the social networks ... !

There are already many many Fb pages of EUROPE fans. And we can find many infos and photos on it. But the problem is that all those infos quickly disappear from the main page, and then it's difficult to find them again. On this forum, we keep everything very clear : and it's easy to find what we wrote about old concerts, old pictures, or even our very first posts ! IMO, this forum is absolutely indispensable. (But maybe we could talk a bit more of this great forum on some fb pages, just to let other fans know that it does exists : I'm doing this sometimes...)
