Ian's page is not the same anymore. I remember when he created his official facebook, there was such funny posts ! Only short and serious ones, now... Hey... Dig this story! Yesterday i was on the train back home after work, it was rush hour and the train was really ower crowded, not a free seat in site. As i was standing there squeezed in together with a mother and her screaming toddler, i suddenly had a 911 call from mother nature... Or rather from my inmer gasworks. The system was about to break down and the preaussur was reaching a critical level. Red allert! It was probably due to the spicy Tex Mex lunch i had earlier. "FXXk" i thought, it's 30 minutes before i get off this train, why now!? I started to fight back. but after about 10 minutes i felt like a blimp, just about to take off into air. It was just no use! I looked at all the people standing around me and i thought... what the hell, i'll go for it! If i just make it thru this 3 steps i'll be allright. 1. let it out quietly, 2. hope it's not too smelly, 3. try to keep a straight face not to give myself away. I slowly gave after and opened the "relief valv" and let the high preassur do the job... Good... no sound. Step 1. had been a victory! Now i could only wait and see... Or smell rather. Unfortunately step 2. proved not to be as succesful... The smell that developed was something... Alien! If i had'nt known better, i could have sworn that it came from beyond the grave! I started breathing thru my mouth and tried to see if any other people reacted funny, and sure they did... The mother that was standing next to me, lifts up the screaming little toddler, and starts sniffing it's ass!!! I just cracked up an started laughing and people stared at me like... yeah, he's the guilty one! l lost step 3. and my dignity had dissolved into thin stinking air..." |

This one was hilarious, too : Oh dear! Standing in line at the supermarket. goddam it´s slow! there´s an old ratbag before me trying to haggle over a pint of milk that´s past the expiry date! Why did´nt she check it at the dairy counter??? get outta my way, before one of us dies! |

Yes it's a shame because we can no longer interact with Ian on Facebook, in the past he was much more active there, sharing with fans moments lived like these (hahaha ...) Yeah, Ian is as well! I also remember the initiative taken by him few years ago, each week the fans sent him questions and he answered them personally, it was really good. It seems to me that some posts disappeared... Like the one speaking about the world scout jamboree, in august 2011. Ian told how there was a storm when EUROPE had to go by car from Malmö show to the jamboree show, that were both the same day. The wiper of the car was suddenly broken, and they couldn't drive anymore under the big rain. Then Mic had the idea to tie some strings to the wipers, and he and JTempest dragged them in turn... That's how finally they reached the concert ! Do you remember this story? I was there, at the Malmö tent tour show, with my son. And I remember that after the show, waiting for the bus under the rain, we suddenly saw the car with EUROPE, driving fast towards their second show in the same night ! Normally, Ian post about this awesome story was between this post : and that one : Do you think he deleted it because it wasn't a true story ? |

First we played in Malmö. The crowd was amazing but the weather sucked. It rained like crazy thru the whole show, good thing we had the tent  Right after we finnished the gig we jumped in a van and headed for Kristianstad to play for 45000 scouts from around the world. After driving about 20 min in the pouring rain the windshield wipers broke... down... Excelent timeing! We had to stop every two minutes so the driver could go out and wipe the window with a towel. We had almost given up our hope to make it in time for the show when Mic came up with the brilliant idea... to tie a string to each side of the wiper in order to pull it manually back and forth over the windshield from inside the van. It was a sight for sore eyes to see Joey pulling one end of the string and Mic pulling the other, and the driver sitting inbetween giving orders who and when to pull!!! We all laughed our *** off, but hey, it worked  )) Finally we arrived at the gig 5 min prior to showtime. Me and John Leven had some beers in the van there and we really needed to take a piss befor the show, but there were'nt even time for that. Maaan i almost pissed my pants on stage Anyway, the crowd was fantastic, i never thought that scouts could rock out, but boy was i wrong... 45000 of them screaming and dancing like crazy! Actually it made my forget about my bursting bladder! The Royal King of Sweden who used to be a scout himself was there. After we finnished our set the King went up on stage and held a speech and did some jokes and funny audience participation games, he was actually pretty good! After he was finnished he and his security guys came down to where we were standing backstage and startet to talk to Joey. I thought "what the heck... it' now or never" so i went up to the King, put my hand on his shoulder and said "hey man you did a fXXking great job up on stage! You should do this more often" he just stared at me like i was some kind of a nutcase and stuttered something. Well maybe he's not used to be spoken to that way?! Just another day at the office... Yes Ian's FB page was so cool in the beginning. I was particularly a fan of his videos, answering questions from the fans, directly from his "Rock Cave"...
Who's running the page these days? Seems that now it's more or less the news from Europe that is being repeated....

Maybe he took this picture from Ian´s personal Fb page, that only allows "real" friends and not fans. |

Maybe he took this picture from Ian´s personal Fb page, that only allows "real" friends and not fans. Fernanda, I thought the same like you previously. But someone explained to me it has nothing to do with the real location : when you see "Taipei", it doesn't mean that it was posted from there... (I don't remember the full technical explanation, unfortunately !) So, that's probably FOR TRUE Ian himself. That's his very unique style, BTW ! He looks fine on this picture : that's great, because he seemed a bit tired on former photos... I'm happy to see he has some holidays in a beautiful nature. |
