I think it might be interesting to open a thread where we can share opinions of other artists, other musicians, where to comment concerts or albums that we like or maybe not. I was seeing on Thursday a concert of Bon Jovi in Madrid. It's a band that I've always liked, but in recent years the quality of their music for me has decayed. Still sound great live. They have a great show, assembling stage, lights, good for my taste a little too, I like to enjoy live "You give love a bad name" but don't need all that ... because besides all that paraphernalia somehow makes you lose the sense of how important music is. Jon Bon Jovi is in very good shape, his voice got worse throughout the concert but I have to admit that lasted 3 hours so I think that is normal. We miss Richie Sambora, he is sorely missed especially in the choruses of the songs, his voice high is wonderful and we hadn't. The hightlight moment was when Jon Bon Jovi singing "Living a Prayer" in front of around 40,000 people with the national team shirt soccer is quite a sight (well I'm a little tired of the football ) but it was really funny, ...I enjoyed a lot. gemaim, it could be great if your share with us your experience with Bruce here. .

Bruce, Bruce, Bruce...What can I say by now about the man more admirated by in this world when he is 63 and has played for three hours and half with no stops? Not much but Bruce is from another world, no one in this business can face him.
He could be doing a two hours show, with a fistful of classic tracks and everything would be ok, there would be nothing to throw in his face... except that's not the Bruce's way. I'm not acusing anyone, it's fact, just Bruce does things like that.
But it's not only a questión of time. For me a Bruce's show it's not something to go to, or to watch, or to listen, its something to live in because it's an emotional state so intense in wich you can travel from total hapiness to sadness or anger. That's because being a fan is cool, yes, but sometimes is bullshit: you've seen a few shows, shows that change in 60 % from one night to another and you're waiting for that special one, the one that takes your guts for three hours and makes you cry for hapiness, for sadness, for excitement... I reached that state in two shows last year and I'm not sure if some day it will happen again (for this season I still have a chance in Roma in ten days), but I didnt get it last week.
Of course I enjoyed like a little girl, at last I heard Rosalita, I shivered with Drive All Night and the final Thunder Road. and shook, as usual with the harmonic begin of The River, but I found too many songs to please the audience.
In the meantime, what can I say? That Bruce is now in an amazing state. Not only him, the whole E Street Band, for sure the best fucking rock machine all over the world, even if we've already lost two members of the familiy in the way. The chorus line, the horns and of course the pure band can beat you from the stage.
I always think that I'm really lucky to be a fan of him.

Yes, for sure... you know, I'm a late springsteenian when the flood of grunge arrived and I found that the music of my era had disapperared I found him and oh, my god! Even he was in his lowest times (he went crazy, fired the E Street Band, made two different records just as Guns n' Roses with no need...) I would reccomend begin by the first album, Greetings From Asbury Park. And, for God sake!!! Forget the Joey Tempest cover of Born To Run!!! Maybe it's the worst ever!!! No, I love Joey but I gotta admit it, it's the worst!

After seeing Dep Leppard live last June, I returned to rediscover their music, they are a great band, I've always liked their songs but a concert is where a band really shows its quality, and they did. That said, I read something interesting about Dep Leppard: the 23 October 1995 they get the "Guinness Word Records" playing three gigs in three continents in 24 hours, Tangiers (Morocco), London (England) and Vancouver (Canada) Wow ... what a travel!

Hey Eva, I didn't see this before. I agree with you, what a band a what a story, not just the Rick Allen thing, but a lot of bad things and a lot of strength to go on. In this summer show I was interested in Europe & Whitesnake and, yes, I always liked Leppard's songs but I've got a problem with Hysteria (I love High & Dry and Pyromania). But they did a so great show that I surrendered to them.

The story about this band is very interesting, a few days ago I watched the film "Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story" (in english so it was complicated to me ) but clearly is a band of friends who have survived adversities that life put in their way ... The Rick Allen's accident and his process of struggle to return to the band and although in the film not show death of Steve Clark, talks about the problems he had with alcohol addiction and how the band supported him. I like the music of this band much, in live are great, and to know their history is really exciting.
