Not what I expected/preferred, but it's gonna be interesting At least one of them is a kind of legend (it seems to me...) ! Never heard about the second one. But on SRF Fb, they say : "more to come"...

I prefer it to be a surprise I'm not going to write the names here, then... But SRF just announced 2 of the guest stars for the Europe special show. And more names are to come... For the ones interested by this mysterious names, go and see SRF fb: www.facebook.com/swedenrockfestival(and for the ones who prefer surprises : don't go !! ) I wonder how many guest stars will be there, finally ? For me, that will be the real surprise.

I would like to discuss these two guests and what it could mean for the concert, but since I don't want to spoil anything, I'm going to use the new spoiler tag I just added to the forum. (Click on Spoiler if you want to read the text.) While it will be interesting to see Michael and Scott and the other upcoming guests, I just hope Europe won't play too many cover songs. I'm just not that keen on cover songs. When I go to a Europe concert, I only want to hear Europe songs. I guess three, four cover songs would be OK since they're going to play for 2,5 hours, but no more than that.

I'm with you, too !
For example, I don't know why Norum is always playing covers during his solo, instead of his own songs !
(For the spoiler.;; yes, great idea. But I guess it'll take some time to me before I can use it correctly... I need some training before I could post something about the guests...)

Trying the spoiler ! Is it working ? Yeaaahhh ! It works ! So, my question is : Who is Scott gorham ? Someone important for EUROPE ? They had something to do with him , formerly ? Is he a friend? An inspiration And Stein, yes I agree : However, although I'm not fond of too many covers, too, it's different when they are playing just a short part of some songs (for example, "Dancing queen" in Manchester, it was magic ! ) But what I don't like, is when they are playing always the same song, right in the middle of RTN or Superstitious. Yes, what I prefer is EUROPE songs !

Well done, guesswho? As for your question: Scott Gorham is one of the guitarists in Thin Lizzy. He joined them for their fourth album, Nightlife in 1974, and has been in the band ever since.

I 'm thrilled about the two guests!Great musicians! Actually I'm a fool for Thin Lizzy and Scott Gorham has stayed with them longer than any other guitarist. It'll be great to see him on stage with Europe (maybe do just one Thin Lizzy cover),like a dream come true!

Just read a recent interview with John Norum and found this part interesting: {Spoiler}"But this summer Sweden Rock Festival will be the only gig in Sweden and we're going to play a 2,5 hour long set which will feature songs from all our albums. There will also be a lot of exciting guest artists such as Scott Gorham and Michael Schenker. We're working hard to get our original drummer Tony Reno to do a couple of songs. We haven't heard back from him yet. We don't know if he even plays drums at all anymore. He might have retired altogether, so we'll see how that goes. It would have been so magical and fun if we could get him in for a jam. It's been so many years since we played together." My thoughts on this: {Spoiler}It would be fun to see Tony on stage with Europe, especially since it's been 29 years since his last gig with them. Do I think it will happen? Probably not. Norum said in a 2006 interview that Tony hadn't played drums in 10, 15 years. I doubt Tony has picked up the sticks again after that. If they do convince him to do this thing, it would take a lot of rehearsing. Hopefully he won't slack off to spend time with his girlfriend again... LOL!
