As an implied reference, I'll sum up this show by saying : They were "Magnificent" ! What to say more ? I think EUROPE have nearly reached the perfection now. I've often thought this : "this time, they are better than ever before..." But it seems there's always a better level for EUROPE. Same setlist like for Bordeaux: with "Ready or Not" (finally, I've heard it live !!!). And it was fantastic. Great songs, excellent shape of everyone, perfect performances, good sound, beautiful lights, impressive energy. The new songs are nice. I'm impatient to hear more of them. Only too short, of course. But next year, I will attend at least 1 or 2 full show, for sure. The audience liked the show very much I think, from what I heard and saw. It was full (10000 peoples) for Scorpions, and for Europe there was around 9000 peoples. At the end, JTempest said in a perfect charming french : "A bientôt". So I think this tour with Scorpions was just a kind of preamble before another tour in France with only Europe (I hope so !) The time on stage was short, but Mr Tempest spoke some words in French. Very kind about "la cité rose". And he said : "Vous êtes magnifiques" (you're magnificent) What more irresistible could he have said ? Now, from a personal point of view apart the concert, many things turned bad for me. Very complicated situations ! And first of all, my friend Brigitte, who was coming especially from Paris for it, missed the show.! It was a gift I made to her for her birthday, because she likes Europe but never saw them live. But there was an accident on the highway, and she was blocked and unable to reach the Zenith ! My friend Emmanuelle and I waited for her for 2 hours outside in the cold. For nothing. The worst is that we came early at the Zenith, because of the security and the long waiting queues. And so, being among the very first, we were able to be close to the stage, maybe in the front row !!! What a dream, here in my hometown ! But instead of it, we had to wait outside until 8/00 for Brigitte who never arrived, and then just take sadly our seats without her (first rows of the seats, however, because I bought the places a year ago , actually !!!!! But it was so far from the stage...)
And 2 days before the show, I was so ill : at bed with 39° ! But fortunately, everything was OK for the show. And to finish, my camera is broken. The films and photos I made with my phone are just ugly.
The hardest circumstances around a Europe show I've ever known...
